Class trip to Slieve Glah in September

As one of our first Geography lessons back in September, we took a hike up the local mountain- Slieve Glah. Believe it or not it's the second highest point in Co Cavan (320m)- and it's on our doorstep! Because of the excellent ordnance survey maps on-line (and our interactive whiteboards) we were able to figure out in advance what we were expecting to see in each direction. Local resident Brendan Keaney came with us also and gave us the local knowledge on the mountain. It was a very enjoyable trip and we got a great feel for the local area. Perhaps some of the children will post comments about the trip and what they were able to see from the top of Slieve Glah.
